Inhalt

Companies that operate internationally inevitably encounter customs issues. Employees in customs departments therefore need sound knowledge to optimise customs clearance processes and avoid economic risks. Employees in functions that are not directly customs-related still need a basic understanding. Raising awareness among employees in interface positions helps address customs clearance challenges before non-compliance or fines occur. In practice, however, new colleagues are often trained on the job. Our introductory seminar provides essential, up-to-date customs knowledge, practical tips and case studies.

Content:
This one-day seminar for beginners provides practical knowledge of customs clearance, explains key terminology and gives you confidence in your day-to-day work.

Introduction
• Structure of customs administration (D/EU)
• Why do we have customs duties and what is their purpose?
• Identifying the tariff number/transparent description of goods for import
• Observe import preferences (“WuP Online”)
• Other import bans and restrictions

• Export basics
• What are the declaration options?
• Identifying the goods tariff number and coding using a case study
